Someone mentioned we might want to begin to create forum categories and move older posts into them, so I'll start a "trike concepts" category.

Because of all the issues with the original outrigger design, I started looking at how the Pulse might look as a trike, which is a pretty straight forward conversion. I remember seeing some images of a guy that added two wheels to the front of a BD looking shell and although it was a neat and novel implementation, I don't think it was a very good looking design.

Here's a quick sketch. I'll clean it up and add some design variations.

Wow... and I thought I had a restoration challenge.

Steve,

It says the owner rebuilt the vehicle. What's the chance of us being able to contact him and get some updated pictures?

"Zoiks!" Can't fault anyone trying to achieve their creative vision.
Hey, does this qualify for the title that one of our members gave the Bede Trike? An Abomination? This vehicle probably has interesting lighting too for at night.

That's just scarey ... creative .... but just really scarey!

Did some state actually issue a title and registration for that...?

As you can see in the photo, Linda has opened the access door to the V-8 engine. Notice the exhaust pipes exiting the body. Also the canopy was quite high above the drivers head. It used motorcycle handle bar type steering. Headlight was hacked into the nose area with plex cover.

Yes it had a Texas plate on it.

Notice the indent in the outrigger area near the canopy.....that was a retractable stair step with the step completely removed. Someone did a whole lot of body work and spent alot of time on this......thing.

I think it was a three wheeler. Notice the tire cover door on the outrigger.

Ron Palmer told us that he had been told there was a Pulse for sale in Mesquite, Texas and this is what we found.

Have you ever been on a wild "Pulse" chase???

I forgot to mention. Place yourself in the drivers seat ....kinda hard to see the traffic ahead of you too.

I tried to talk Ron into buying it and bringing it to the Marion Rally. Smile

Ok if they can build this three wheeler for only $3,000 in Thailand.....you know they can reproduce the Pulse for under $10,000

The Tuk Tuk seats four people and has a 650cc engine.

Het Ken..... heres your chance to go to Thailand and talk turkey to them about building new autocycles.
