Has anyone else seen the pulse on this Japanese site?
www.sougo-k.co.jp/mesa.html6/mesa.html6/ mesa_html6html.htm - 20k
On Makoto Aizawa's site, we see his Coors Silver Bullet, and if you scroll down a bit, you see this crazy vehicle that looks like it started out as a Pulse/Litestar. Could it be built from scratch? Maybe it's a kit? Maybe just a really really modified Pulse? I don't know, but it's sure a hoot, considering the site's in Japanese! Check it out!
If anyone knows what this thing is, or where it came from, let us know. Makoto's email link is on his site, so I emailed him. I don't know if he speaks English, but we'll find out soon enough. |

I don't thing the white vehicle is a Pulse.
Many of the photos of Makoto's Silver Bullet Pulse are on Don Muddiman's web site. I think the coolest thing about Makoto's machine is the tilting canopy. I've been trying to get him to send me a copy of his engineering plans for a couple of years with no success. So maybe he can't read English.
What I am really wondering about is why does he have the three photos of a 2001 Honda Goldwing GL1800 motor? Is he working on installing it into his machine? If so, it would be the fastest Pulse on the road.

Hey,
Check out the MPEG movies of Makoto's Pulse. His canopy is operated by linear motors. Very cool.

I just looked at the mpegs--they are very cool. I think he gets major points for trying on the canopy thing.
Only I guess I don't really understand the canopy-up thing. I'm sure he had to really modify the back for the tilt--does it have a 'notch' in the boat-tail? It doesn't look easier to get into and out -of, and it takes quite a bit of time to get open.
I personally think that using compressed air cylinders--maybe even in conjunction with a counterbalance using springs or gas-struts--would make a canopy that opens much more quickly, and probably more smoothly. I know that I already have a compressor for my pulse's air-shocks, (but no actual 'tank'--could you use a two-liter pop bottle at 40psi?)
Still, I don't think I'd ever consider opening up after seeing his video. Also, in the sound, it seems like the motors are overloading near the top, and like the canopy lets light into the front-bow when he's cornering--does it not seal well?
At least he's doing something. Mine doesn't even move yet...hrenchir 057. |
