The last few times that I had driven at night, I really had enough of having the light from the headlamps of a following vehicle.
Sure. The GCRV is quite a curiousity on the road at night.
Yet, my eyes get a good measure of both headlamps. Worse is when they forget that the high beams are on.
Now days, I can only imagine the eye strain that I'd get from more vehicles that have Driving Lights as standard package (or the drivers that install their own to keep up with the times).
What solution has anyone come up with for this problem?
I'd like electric mirrors, but that would be another drain on the faulty electrical system. |

Last fall on my way back from Oshkosh, I had more problems with camera flashes from the cars beside me than headlights behind. Of course, most cars didn't stay behind me as I was only driving 55 trying not to bake the Yamaha 400 on the 1200+ mile trip.
I am not sure what the best solution would be; but I use to have the same problem while driving my Fiero at night. The Pulses just sit too low... People who install extra lights, do not aim them properly, and use them when they shouldn't (like when following another car) only make the problem worse.
Maybe if we could get an LCD auto darking glass and controler for the side mirrors like they use for automatic mirrors inside the car. Problem would be getting the right size and sealing them from the elements.
Well maybe a project for after I finish installing the new engine (GL1200). _________________ Jeremy Dawes

therouj,
As far as trips in the Pulse go... they are a lot of fun, but plan on spending a lot more time than you expected and realize that just about anything can happen.
Follow the link to my previous post about the trip.

(hope the link works haven't tried one on this board.)
Happy Cruising,
