Even though the idea has been on many owners minds, there has not been any competition trials or personal tests on a racetrack for top speed.
What is often the problem with the design of the Pulse is the use of air shocks on the front. There is often felt a wheel shake when the combination of unforgiving air shocks and tire deformation from speed occurs.
I'm not the end-all answer to your question, but such is what I am famliar with.
The best performance that is felt with the Pulse is in the passing of another vehicle. Thanks to the efficiency of some Pulses with better engines, the vehicle can 'scoot' quickly. There is also the ability to move quickly from a standing stop position.
So, unlike the Swedish Okemobile, the Pulse has not been used as a racer or competitor.
(since I never had much experiance with standard-shift vehicles, I've had difficulty getting used to 'down-shifting' before passing another vehicle...so, passing wasn't as quick as a more experianced driver would have) _________________ Tammy and Elden have Pulse #308 from 1988.Built in Butcher's Barn and presently sets inoperative in their garage. We are still keeping it! |
