Consider that Moller Industries used two or three snowmobile engines to provide power to drive the fans on his experimental Vertical Take Off saucer.
With a Gold Wing or Silver Wing engine, certainly the power should be enough.
Perhaps the propeller(s) on the flying pulse can be ducted and also foldable, rather than worry about either removing the pusher prop or worry if you remembered to disengage it before "buzzing around" the town.
Finally...wouldn't there be more engine maintenance to be performed due to long periods of high rpm with the engine? |

Hey,
don't dispair.
Flying can be achieved with a matter of contained hot air.
Flight-less birds on the globe abound.
Yet jet like vehicles, like we have, also cannot leave the ground.
If a matter of flight is what is desired,
then with zepplin or balloon style should our lift be inspired.
Forward momentum may be a trick,but really while in the air you may become sick.
Dream on your flights of fancy,
surviving the highway is one thing while flying is chancey.

But flying is cool and good for the heart
as you slip to the skies and with earth you do part
no one to talk to; no issues or fights
just you and the air as you enjoy your flights
so hey what the heck sometimes risk can be good
as long as you land in one piece (and we would)
a pulse that could fly would be absolute luck
because Florida's freeways consistently suck.

Don't get your hopes up for a flying Pulse, gentlemen. Despite what Popular Science magazine says, I think you'd be hard pressed to show any of those hovercraft actually flew. Stability studies show that hovercraft without aprons can't be controlled. Likewise, you'll also need a whole bunch more power than any normal motorcycle or snowmobile engine can provide. Look at the V-22 Osprey. That program has been around for decades and they've spent billions of dollars on it and it still isn't ready for prime-time. |

Pulse people like to dream big and reality can not hold us.
check out www.moller.com for the latest car plane that look as if it will be
certifies by theF.A.A in the near future. As A pulse owner and pilot,
the sky is the limit, well sort of.

For a school project in '87 I designed a flying car based on the pulse crossed with a similarly sized and shaped airplane.
Using a telescoping bi-wing for adequate lift with a street legal width and a small wing was added to the nose. I used a cage around a pushing propeller for safety.
Everything steel would be made of aluminum instead to reduce weight.
To take off you would drive normally to near takeoff speed then shift to engage the geared up propeller and fly up up and away.
