Help;
I installed a kawasaki ninja engine over a year ago and drive it
everywhere without problems. I did the parade thing last week and
then again last week-end. IT overheated both times! The radiator is located below the engine in the outrigger and has no air in the system.
Question? If I add another radiator on the other outrigger will this help
or cause more problems? The easy fix is to stay out of parades!

do you have an electric fan blowing on your radiator when you sitting idle or come on at a certain temp....????

having a radiator is great but if its not properly set up to be affective it does you no good.

Hi Steve,

I have a fan on my radiator which is the traditional style side mount radiator.
My fan blows continuous and is no longer controller by a themostat. I have no overheating problems now.

Clean out your radiator and use Engine Ice.

You may want to add a scoop to bring air directly to the radiator somehow if yours is enclosed in the body.

Don Sucha has the yamaha 400cc engine and describes how he cooled his engine here:

You might consider another air scoop on the bottom of the engine area and adding 2 fans in the side openings.

Add an oil cooler.

Maybe a combination of all of these ideas.

Good Luck,

Steve Schmidt
