I am in need of a wheel rim for my Pulse. I have searched every scrap yard with in my area and can not find one. I can't tell you what car it is from, I have been searching with the information from Don's list, and can't find anything close.
Before I started to look for a rim I had an adapter made (like Don's for the sprocket) so I am tied into the "normal" Pulse wheel rim. I can't seem to find a match for it up here in Canada, so perhaps it was made for an American market auto.
I will be going to Marion for the rally and am hoping that someone will have a spare they will sell me. Any help is appreciated.
many thanks

Hey, dynoman, according to Don's parts page, the rim you need is from a 1983-87 Dodge Omni or Renault Alliance. It's a 13 inch 4 bolt wheel.

Thanks for the post, I have been searching for a rim from those two models, but have had no luck finding one.
Up here in Canada we have a major rust problem and the junk yards don't save parts that old.
I am just having a dreadful time trying to locate one.
While I am posting, I want to thank you for your past help and miss all the wonderful input you and Don used to come up with, to help us.
Also miss Dave Bauer's posts. You three guys are great communicators.

I'll try and hunt down my information, but one of the Pulse owners has a great looking white Enkie wheel on the front of their's. I'm not experienced in the front wheel area (yet), but other than it having a 0 offset and turning clearance, what are the other issues? Attachment of the brake rotor? Fit within the stock Pulse steering arms?

I'm taking my whole front steering assembly off this weekend, assuming Charley doesn't mess up my weekend, here in FL. If you're not in a big rush, I'll have a few members of the team take a look at it and see if we can come up with a nicer looking and more available, but cost effective alternative.

Chuck
Are you looking for front wheel? In your post you mentioned a sprocket
Or are both your wheels the same.

Thanks Bob
When you remove the front wheel assembly be very careful and pay close attention to the speedo drive, upon reassemble it must be spaced
and installed at a predetermined distance (?) or the soft metal tangs will get screwed up. When you take it apart, you will understand.

The reason I need a exact replacement ,the aluminum billet to make the sprocket adapter cost @150.00 plus the machinist's fee. Not cheap, but a much needed improvement, the bolts on the original rim were loose and did a number on the bolt holes, beyond repair.
Once again many thanks

How are you, good to hear from you.
I need a rear but both of mine are the same.

Looking forward to seeing you and your lovely wife at the meet.

I plan on bring a Messerschmidt, as of course, my Pulse needs a wheel among other things, and I thought the airplane people would get a kick out of a different kind of (?) auto cycle..

Even without a vehicle the rally is a great event, I encourage anyone with an interest in our vehicles to attend. A super net working event.

Take care
See you in a couple of weeks

Howz It Going Eh?
Perhaps you could contact the folks that bring us the helpful program featuring "The Handiman's Corner"
It would seem that they come up with vehicles and vehicle solutions.
You know, they are a Canadian based program.
I don't advise contacting Moose Thompson or Old Man Cedric, but Red Green may have the answer you are looking for.
Remember now, keep the stick on the ice...we're all pulling for you.

Ah, now I know where I saw the nice looking Enkie front wheel. Check out Tom Caprioli's journal at:

http://www.geocities.com/autocycle2000/Journal/March20.html

That's way better looking than the stock Pulse wheel. Too bad they don't make them any more.

Tom, did you install that wheel or was it on there when you got the Pulse?

Chuck,
I called several junk yards here in florida and they said they had a
wheel for an 87 dodge omni. I am going to check them out in the morning.
If i have luck and find one I will bring it to the rally or perhaps ship it to
Steve Schmit and see if he will bring it since I have to fly up again this
year. I did have the pleasure of meeting you last year but you were
pretty wore out from the ride on your bike.
see you soon

So glad to hear that you are going to the rally, will be nice to see you again.
Whatever it cost, shipping etc, I will be pleased to reimburse you.

Yes, I was pretty whacked from the bike trip last year, 7 days of 12hr riding per day is hard on a senior citizen, the 100 anniversary celebration with a million Harley riders in Milwaukee is certainly one of the highlights of my 53 year love affair with Harley Davidson.
Thank you ever so much for your help

Chuck,
I watched them remove the wheel from an 87 dodge omni. The bolt
holes match the ones on my pulse! I will ship it to ray johnson in
the next few days, as soon as I can find a box.
see you soon!

Steve
That is great news. You have certainly made my day. Razz

Hope you were out of harms way, when that hurricane whipped up through the States.

See you in two weeks.

Hoping the rally sets a record for attendance.
