The door on the pulse headlight has always been a problem. Most of the problems were inherited from the fiero.
The two main problems are the the internal gear in the motor (teeth wear off),
and the two relays that control motor direction.
The gear is available on ebay--and guess what --you don't need the relays!
By installing a double throw double pole switch (it will have 6 contacts) in the motor circuit the relays can be eliminated. This can be accomplished by wiring the center connectors with ground on one side and plus 12V on other side.
Wire the green wire from motor to opposing corners of the switch. Then wire
the blue wire to one of the switch connectors and gray wire to the other connector.
moving the switch in one direction will cause the door to open-- move it in the other direction will close door.
The relays are only there to make the light switch last longer. |
