Took my two teenagers to Universal Studios in Hollywood, CA. On the tram "backlot tour" they take you past an area with movie vehicles lined up in a row. Right in the middle besides the jeep from Jurassic Park was a red pulse under a "Back to the Future" sign.

Two headlights model, red, couldn't get much of a look at it. Anybody know the story on how it got there?

Please email me a pic of the Pulse. Get the tram driver to stop, so you can get the VIN number off of the dash.

NOTICE TO MEMBERS.......Litestar Pulse Regulation #95.004

All members in good or bad standing must get VIN numbers from unidentified Pulses when you come across them...............signed the management Smile

I might still have a connection at the Universal Studio Tour backlot. If I can get ahold of him, where do I tell him to look for the VIN? I have to ask as I do not yet own one.

The VIN date plate should be riveted to the top of the glare shield (above dash) on the drivers side, so you can see it when you look through the windshield.

Unless some idiot removed it. Measures about 1/2" high X 3" long.

If you go to Steve Schmidt's fine web site you will also note that many of
the early litestar/ Pulses did not have VIN plates . The VIN was painted on
the frame. If no VIN plate is present it would help for dating purposes to
see if the Pulse has two headlights or one recessed one. look at the
steering wheel to see if it is the butterfly type or round. You can look to
see if it has a radiator sticking out of the right side., details, details, details!.
Good luck!

I had no VIN plate untill I made one. Don't tell!

I sent an email to Universal as well. Steve, I'd have jumped out and gotten the VIN number, but I was stuck in the middle of the car. Tried to throw one of the teenagers, but that didn't work either.... I have one picture that shows the side of a woman's head with a small red pulse nose sticking out the side... Two headlights by the way, so an earlier model. Paint and dash looked good, from the short exposure, looked like it was in pretty good shape.

They've got a Universal Park in Orlando. Wonder if they have a Pulse on their backlot tour.

The Universal Studios here in Orlando, doesn't have a Backlot styled studio tour. The Back To The Future ride is mildly themed on the outside, but no signs of a Pulse.

Just for the fun of it, did a web search, and on a site called webshots.com, came across the following pictures.

Not sure if it's enough to identify a particular number, but it's a start.

If someone wants to download them and save them to an album, feel free.

Learning the way to show pics

Bits and pieces of the pulse

And the next one is probably the best shot so far!!

We have now seen both left and right sides, and can tell it’s the small engine (no radiator ducts). Still can’t see the steering wheel, or interior.

Outrigger wheels covers appear to be open.

On November 4th, I am doing a 5K run/walk through the backlot of Universal Studios. I am looking at the 5K map trying to see where this display of cars is located. If I go by it, I will do my best to get the VIN. If we go by and it is roped off, I will risk getting tossed out to get close enough to get the vin.

In the mean time, here is a video i found on Youtube that shows the display and has good shots of the Pulse.....

Bob Butts of Fantasy Cars leased seven Pulse cars to Universal Studios for the filming. One of them, known as #74, was originally red but rolled over in an accident and was repainted white. This same car was later used in the films Hologram Man and Lawnmower Man II, and was modified for the television series Seaquest DSV.

"It was a fairly common model of car by 2015, since at least two of them were in downtown Hill Valley at about the same time. A red Pulse was the first vehicle Marty saw as he exited the alley opposite the Courthouse, driving along Main Street from right to left. A white Pulse could briefly be seen parked in front of the Uniglobe Travel Agency during the hoverboard chase."

During the film segment regarding the hoverboards, I found a third Pulse parked on the rooftop filling station. Yellow in color.
I was able to see it because my old DVD player had a 'zoom' feature.
