I am writing for more info on getting my speedometer working on my pulse. It has a VDO speedometer guage and sending unit on the front tire. I checked the guage and it is working fine. I tried oiling the cable until oil ran out of the other end. I cleaned the sending unit and re- greased it and it is not working. I think the problem is the sending unit. How do you get another one , What model or where to order one. Would like to get it running again. Thanks, kooman

I wish I could help you on this one, but I've been thru 4 different Pulse front ends and they all seem to use a similar but slightly different sending device on the front axle. It's definitely a motorcycle unit, but I'm not sure of the model or year. I actually took mine to a bike salvage yard and wandered thru hundreds or bikes and bike parts but couldn't find a match. I'm just leaving my gauge in the dash and installing a GPS unit to give me speed. I believe others like Bob Cervaro had installed an electronic sending unit with digital read out.

If you have the money, and the ability to do some fabrication work on the dash area, you could install this
all in one electronic dash and really update your pulse:

The model you would probably want to use would be the
250-DS-UDXSR <<<click

It is compact but displays all the info you need. These are the dimensions the website gives:
4.00" tall, 10.20" wide, 2.125" thick. Total clearance required behind mounting surface: 2.0"

For a bit less, or a lot less, you could replace the VDO with an electronic speedo from AutoMeter <<<click

Or there are also units out there for bicycles that use a magnetic pick-up and eventhough they are for bikes, they go up to about 120mph. One brand that comes to mind is Sigma.
